“I thought back to when I was in high school: I was very much into music, but the equipment was really expensive and hard to get a hold of. The basketball court at school was free; it was also free to play a violin or a drum set, but the way music on the radio is made, there was nothing in high school that helped with that.”

Music is away to reach kids in school. As long as it is made available to them.I have listened to music since I was old enough to know what I liked since jodeci, mary j. blige.Music is what actually helped me with overwelming grief after the loss of my granmom May 4,2009.I mean it was so traumatic for me.She was all my daughter and I had.She raised me from two weeks old. So,I had to decide to go back to college at 25 yrs old.Complete my assoc of arts(business).Almost finished 24 remaining hrs left.Let me tell you it was not easy.I am a single mom of a nine yr old daughter. We basically had to start all over from the bottom with nothing.People didn’t want to see me go back to college.Negativity is always going to surround you and try to hold you back. But, ultimately the decision is up to the individual.Education is what I chose.I am going to walk to my classes b/c I have no other means of transportation. But, it is worth it.I will set the example for my daughter.Hopefully, she won’t make the mistakes I made. And, keep education first inspite of any negativity.

That my vision on it.people all around me had huge computer technology programs for drawing and finalizing projects and i had a paper and pencil with an eraser on the end.The basics are basicly usefull.-quote Branden C
I appreciate the quote he made it keeps me going.

I think it is amazing what Kanye is doing for today’s youth. Many people who have the power that he has are only it for themselves. This is a man who seems to have had good up-bringing. He has an enormous influence on our youth and he is using that influence positively. I love Kanye and I am proud that we have brothers who are actually looking out for the future of our youth. As an advocate of education myself, I am glad that we understand the concept of “whatever it takes” to graduate. It is necessary that we find a reason to stay in school, whether it be sports, performing arts or academics. Together we can do it. Go ahead Mr. West, I admire you.

I love this guy and now I feel obbsessed with him since I found out how important our youths education is to him. I’am trying to open a nonprofit for at risk teens in my hometown of Newark,NJ to help solve the issue of these teens not finishing school.
I’am Venus I grew up with 5 sisters and a crack addicted mom.
I have one older sister and 4 younger. At the age of 25 I took custody of my 2 youngest sisters then 15 & 16. I took the inicitve because I wanted to rewrite our history of giving up and becoming happy losers I’am the only one of my sisters to graduate high school and attend college its been hard but I refuse to give in to what they feel we should become that why this program is so vital to there success because growing up the drugs consumed my momther she did’nt care if I went to school but I wanted better for her and my sisters so I did it. And now I push my two younger sisters to finish so they can see someone cares in the end that all they ever want is someone to care…..

Because I am strong supporter and admirer of Kanye West, I am definitely going to do everything I can as a freelance writer to promote this great cause. I have always received a great education, and I understand how important higher education is to obtain a successful future. Mr. West is a awesome leader, a great role-model, and outstanding artist. Someday, I will get tell him just how much I appreciate him.
